am i the only one who has single, desperate sisters in the congregation?
they tend to be holier-than-thou, frumpty, but in private talk about getting married.
but they don't understand why no brother will look at them.
Faye - I couldn't agree more. I was so shallow back when I was a JW. Always worried about looking better than everyone else. Being young, thin, and pretty was your ticket to getting invited to the parties or getting asked to join quick build crews, or even to work at bethel. It also helped to get the attention of the "normal" brothers you wanted to date.
Then all the nutty church lady types would get mad at you when brothers invited you places or came to your hall to visit you.
it seems incredibly difficult.
those who leave the org.
(or fade) no longer have anything in common with jehovah's witnesses, nor do they want to stick around to get radiated by the fear and guilt that saturates every aspect of a witnesses' life.. i've lost all but one of my jw friends quite simply because i can no longer condone the evil things that they condone.
and or dresses?

i'm sure that the women would not start behaving like men or imagining that they have a dick!.
the last article in this new wt, shows me that the organization is dealing with much information that is damaging them.

if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.
i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.
i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.
it has been 2 and a half years since my departure from the religion.
i was told by my parents from the start that i would never speak to them until i returned to jehovah dog.
a few months later they told people they hoped i died before the end came, then all of this culminating in them telling my inactive / fading sister that they don't consider me a child anymore and they have given me up to satan.

it was the missed association with family that brought them back.
yes it happen again with our youngest son.
this last monday we got a letter from him telling us how unloving we are because we are no longer jw.
cult and not had kids.
I don't know if this will help, but when I left as an adult child, I finally had to tell my parents that I loved them no matter what. and i wanted them in my life, but they had to respect my choices as an adult. I assured them I would not attack their beliefs if they would respect mine. Then I left it alone until they were ready to have a relationship. It took some time for them to make peace with it, now we have a good relationship, but religion is never discussed.
i have a better relationship with my parents than my siblings that are jw's, but it's because we have boundaries.

my wife and i are thinking about moving to central tn somewhere between crossville and cookeville.
maybe even as far west to lebanon or as far east to hariman.
things have changes so much for us in the last 6 months we would like to live were it is a little warmer with lots of wild herbs for my wife who is a herbalist and for me so i can garden more.
That is what we want too. A little elbow room, but still close to shopping and doctors. Good luck!
